About Vajira A Wickramasingha...

Vajira Wickramasingha was elected as an Associate Member Of The Sri Lanka Institute of Architects in 1998.

She started her carrier at M.J.A. Raheem Associates in 1987 as a Trainee Architect. She joined UDA in 1988.From 1989 to 1993 she was employed as a Trainee Architect, at Built Environment Consultants under Architect V.N.C Gunesekara, who is a past president of SLIA. From 1993to1996 she was employed as an Assistant Architect, at Habitat Architectural Consultants under Mr. M Lalith de Silva who was the president of S.L.I.A during 2002-2004. She re-joined Built Environment Consultants in 1996 as an Assistant Architect. She was promoted in 1997 to Snr. Architect position. During her training period of 10 years she had the opportunity of gaining experience in Designing small, medium and large scale buildings under the supervision of very senior architects. Since 1998 she was employed as a Senior Architect at Nirmana Consultants (pvt ) Ltd until she formed her own practice in 2004.Vajira Wickramasingha registered her own company on the 14th of March 2005 as Vajira Wickramasingha Associates.

More or less equalent to Msc in Architecture Comprehensive Design Project- Empire City a Design of a Mixed Development with offices, cinemas, shops and residences. Dessertation – Effect of Social Forces on the Evolution of House Form in Sri Lanka ( with Special Reference to Houses in Kadyan North Central and maritime Provinces.)
